About Us
I’m Chris, your travel advisor, and guy who somehow went from taking care of $900 million (ish) in Government contracts for the U.S. Air Force to a full-blown fan of helping people plan amazing vacations. Okay, I still do that for the Air Force. You just can’t beat their insurance! level up their email marketing with straightforward solutions and done-for-you resources.
Why do I focus on Multigenerational Family Travel, Group Travel, & Retreat Planning/Organizing?
Because it’s my humble-yet-uncensored opinion that there are way too many dry, boring, snooze-worthy junk webpages out there telling you how to do this all on your own and not enough personality-infused, authentically curated itineraries being created only after the relationships between you and the travel advisor (me) have been established.
I mean, how can an itinerary including a spa day be presented if the travel advisor didn’t know that member of the family has been touched by cancer? Not all resorts have massage therapists trained in how to content in the industry. It’s kind of a big deal to the person who either is still touched with cancer or is still recovering.
Or, yay, you’ve found a location for your yoga retreat! A couple questions you should be asking yourself now are…Does the venue offer transportation to and from the airport? Are (and what) meals included, or do you need to hire an external chef? What about cleaning fees? Are they included? Things like that.
Wellness, accessibility, mobility, LGTBQ+, ages, needs, wants, … these are the things that some random Google doc embedded in a website just doesn’t get.
This is where my experience as a Govt. Program Manager comes into play. I love the intricacies that are involved in making it all come together. Is there an unasked question out there that needs to be answered? Just like managing $900 million (ish) in Govt. contracts, it’s my job to discover what needs to be asked, and well, ask it.
What special trainings or certifications do I have for Multigenerational Family Travel, Group Travel, and Retreat Planning/Organizing?
In my mind, education never ends. The day that we didn’t learn anything, is it really a day lived? It’s an interesting thought. Somebody said that to me forever ago (forgot who), but it has stuck with me over the years. I say that because not only I am pursuing a Master’s degree, but I’m always enrolled in a travel certification.
Yes, I’m Govt. Program Manager certified, Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt certified, Contract Specialist certified, and few others, but that’s not what you’re here for. Here are just a few travel certifications and trainings that I’ve completed…
- Certified Family Travel Expert
- Certified Group Travel Expert
- Ethical Travel Agent
- Cancer Aware Travel Agent Specialist
- Adventure Travel Expert
- Certified Theme Park Expert
- Retreat Navigator
- Certified Spectrum of Accessibility
But besides geeking out over making it all come together, here’s what else you should know about me:
- I’m a service-disabled U.S. Army veteran. I crushed my hands during year seven of active duty, and since the Army doesn’t have much use for a mechanic with crushed hands, well, I learned something new. That’s where you come in.
- I’m always trying to learn something new. Lately it’s been the mandolin. A goal of mine is to coordinate a small bluegrass/folk music workshop somewhere South of the border.
- Nope, I don’t watch all that much tv. If I turn that thing on you can be assured that I’m quickly finding my way to YouTube to research something new.
- I’m a Gemini x Meyers & Briggs ESTP 3, which is a whirlwind combo – I’m always busy and easily bored.
- I collect (ahem: hoard) 1:24th and 1:18th scale radio control cars and trucks like it’s my third job! I love my little rock crawlers.
- Find me in Utah with my wife & four pups, Sulley, Lulu Belle, BB8, and Nala.
- Obsessed with flowers, flower growing, flower picking, taking photos in flowers… you get the picture.
- Boundaries king and fan of being… myself?? Gasp. How revolutionary.
